Feliz Navidad!

I've only purchased 3 gifts...and I have a million more to go! The padres y hermana and I are heading up to the "City" (Seattle), as my mom calls it, this weekend. We're hoping the weather isn't too horrible, and we can enjoy our time together this holiday season. Of course, I want to buy a million things for myself, but I MUST focus on completing my gift list! One for you...Two for me!

Here's some things that I'll be buying for my peeps and myself...You guess who it's for.

NYC came to the Tac

So the Pupu's mom was in town last week, and it was a whirlwind of shopping, sight-seeing and yummy Caribbean food! She can cook! One night, we went to see La Familia and she cooked plantains, chicken curry and cook-up rice. It was heaven. Here's some pics of that night...but I forgot to take pics of the food. No matter, it disappeared with a quickness anyway! Also, I couldn't resist posting a pic of Dylan, Ron's new sobrino. He is adorable!

If you are craving some serious Guyanese food, this is the site http://guyanaoutpost.com/recipes/recipes_alpha.shtml.

The Pupu's mom gave the recipes her seal of approval and said something fabulous I couldn't quite understand!
I always want to say "Hey Mon!", but am quickly reminded that is Jamaican and not Guyanese! Oops. I guess that's like them calling me "Spanish"!

Lo siento.

I'm sorry blog o' mine. I've neglected posting because I've been obsessed, addicted and consumed with another site that posts updates about me and connects me with peeps across the land. I won't even speak its name on this blog out of respect. But I am getting bored with it, so I'll be back to posting on the regular soon!

Fiestas Patrias at The Fair

Latino Day. It is a MUST on my calendario every year. I love seeing the sea o' Latinos in their finest gear enjoying the Fair. Carol, Natalie and I went for dinner last night, and in between bites, we were entertained.

I need some of these! And you know the Pupu needs to rock one of those buckles.

DEEP! There was some Banda group onstage, and it continued throughout the day.

Lookin' fly in their gear.

Looking fresh and still taking care of the kids.

Why you so nasty Khurl? Gotta love the Crusty Pup. She doesn't eat pork but one time a year...and it's the Pup.

Lookin' at Bunny with her fishy face!

Saying no to triathlons.

Yeah! The race is over and they did an awesome job!

They are waiting to swim...in that ice cold lake!

GO Cid and Gabe!

Today Gabe did his first triathlon. It was at "Try-It" triathlon, that let him experience the race as a novice. Mi hermana did it with him, even though she did a half-marathon of 1.2 miles swim, 56 miles bike and 13.1 run the day before! Who does that? The race they did today was .25 miles swim, 11 mile bike and 2.8 mile run. I know, nothing! LOL. It was fun to see him push and finish victoriously.

While CinDee and Gabe were swimming, biking and running, Lou and I watched all the curious peeps at the event! Lots of kids and dogs. And parents that looked like they just rolled out of bed. I did my part, and tried to blend in with some yoga pants and sporty zip-up! I think my earings, makeup, InStyle magazine and combed hair gave me away as if "non-excersiser" was stamped on my head! Oh well. I did run a few meters to get out of the way of actual racers. That's gotta be good for something!

At the end, Gabe said he liked doing it, and will probably do more. I'll guess I'll need to work on my disguise for the next time I get up at 5:30am to see him.

Adios!

Today was my last day at the job I've had for the past 8.5 years. It feels a little weird, but I'm ready for the change. I'm off to start a new chapter!

While I was bored and watching the clock these last couple of days, I came across some hot items that I think my new employer would love me to rock!

Besame. Besame mucho.

Ahhh. I can finally say I've seen Luis Miguel in concert! Te amo, te amo mi corazon. Ok, maybe I'm not as crazy as the lady in the video...but close.
